Description

It’s a hard life – I was taking a road trip on through the Karoo down to Cape Town and almost drove past this beautiful abandoned house because I was trying to match my speed with that of the train (which you can see in the background). In the end, I got tired of playing the “match the speed” game and left the train behind …. just after I had done my setup for the photo; the train arrived again!

Hi Esme.

Hi Joan. The Abandoned Collection is really a heart touching collection ~ I am constantly thinking about the happy lives that families had in these buildings and now they are simply abandoned …

Large Size (A1) : A true conversation piece and very bold statement. This size is ideal for a big empty wall, boardroom or entrance. Express who you are and what you believe. This size is ideal above the couch, bed or on any larger sized wall. I recommend professional framing for this size.

Medium Size (A2) : These proportions transform the photograph into a statement piece of work. Perfect as a striking stand-alone piece on a wall in your dining room, living room, entry, office or bedroom. My most popular size – everyone has room for this size! I recommend professional framing for this size.

Small Size (A3+) : A perfect size for a shelf display or smaller wall. Consider pairing two small prints on a wall in a similar color scheme to create a calm mood. I recommend professional framing for this size.

Gift Size (A4) : This size is perfect to create a gallery wall or display on a desk or shelf or as a thoughtful gift for a loved one. This size fits into ready-made frames.

Custom Sizes: Some prints are printed to custom sizes. This size will be specified in the description.

I strongly recommend having your beautiful image mounted, matted and framed by a professional framer to ensure the endurance and longevity of your special print.

If you purchase a standard frame from a shop I strongly recommend you invest in a framer to matt & mount the image with an acid-free matt board.

Matting is essential to keep the print away from the glass and to allow the image to breathe, ensuring the longevity of your Limited Edition print.

Handle your print only by the edges. The oil from your fingers can affect the PH of the paper and reduce the archival qualities. Fingerprints on dark areas will show up as sheen.

Avoid bending your print - a crease will be permanent.

When you receive your print, carefully remove all packaging tape. Even the smallest piece can find its way onto your print and damage the surface.

Keep your print away from moisture, condensation and humidity. Although our inks are water resistant, water can still cause damage. A water drop on the print will be permanently visible even when dry.

If possible, allow a few days for your print to breathe and the inks to dry completely before framing.

Select only archival (acid-free) frames. Wood frames treated with chemicals or paints can omit harmful gases that can attack the ink and paper.

Providing you keep your print free of dust, moisture and direct sunlight, it will last for many years. If you do happen to notice any fading, just give us a shout – all our prints are guaranteed for 20 years against this happening.

All images are printed on order only.

Please allow 10 days from when your payment reflects our bank account to have your image Ordered & Printed at our master Fine Art Printers and delivered to my studio in Nigel.
