In Harmony, I wanted to create a feeling of well-being and contentment. Harmony is an abstract portfolio of prints, where multiple images have been layered on top of one another to create an impressionistic feel.
I combined three images that I have taken using the photoshop blending tools. The first and second image would be tree branches and then I would overlay one on top of the other with a final textured image which would be raw bricks, cement, and bare walls.
Normally photographers would combine these images in camera, but I wanted more control on where the textures would be applied and what would be visible in the final image. This can be seen in Harmony #4 ~ in the top left corner you can see a little feather and leaves that were laying on the paving when I took the final texture image.
This technique is completely difficult and not easy to repeat.
I only print on the absolute best archival fine art paper, ensuring that your print will last for generations to come.
Returning to the essence of photography
“I want to return to the essence of what a beautiful photograph is. The idea of families looking at my images and sharing them with each other; there could not be a more perfect way to celebrate photography!” ~ George Fivaz
